About CoParentPrep
CoParentPrep is an independent education hub for people pursuing parenthood outside a romantic relationship, through platonic co-parenting, known-donor arrangements, and fertility preservation while searching.
Why this site exists
Interest in platonic co-parenting is growing quickly, and the matching platforms have made finding a potential co-parent easier than ever. What hasn't kept pace is preparation. The information people need before committing (what agreements can and can't do, what conception routes cost, which warning signs predict litigation) is scattered across academic papers, forum threads, and attorney blogs. We put the preparation layer in one place, in plain English, with working tools instead of vague advice.
What we publish and how we work
- Everything is educational, nothing is advice. We are not a law firm, medical practice, or counseling service. Our job is to make your first professional consultations dramatically more productive, not to replace them.
- Claims are sourced. Medical statements track ASRM patient guidance and CDC ART data; legal patterns are drawn from published statutes and reported cases; cost figures are typical published US ranges, labeled as estimates.
- Tools run in your browser. Our calculators and checklists send nothing to any server. What you type stays on your device.
How we make money
Two ways, both disclosed: display advertising on informational pages, and our paid Preparation Toolkit. We currently have no affiliate relationships with, and receive no compensation from, any matching platform, clinic, or law firm mentioned on this site. If that ever changes, the relationship will be disclosed on the relevant page.
